Keep Calm and Sparkle On!

By Sarah Aronson

Hi! Have you ever walked into school and felt so nervous because your teacher was the one you thought was teaching, but it was a substitute? Well, Isabelle has! She walked into her school and, all of a sudden, her grandmother (who was her teacher) wasn’t teaching.

At this point, I should tell you that, if you haven’t read The Worst Fairy Godmother Ever! yet, you should definitely read that first. It’s the first book in this series. You can read my review on that book here.

Isabelle walked into the classroom. Right away, she noticed that things were changing. She picked up a test from the table and went to join the others: Angelica, Dawn, Minerva, and MaryEllen. All of a sudden, Minerva decided she didn’t want to be a fairy godmother anymore. So, she went through the door labeled I’m Not Ready to Become a Fairy Godmother. Everyone else followed her, including Isabelle. And, that led to the second level class.

So, when everybody was settled in their seats, the teacher came from the back of the room. But this teacher was not Isabelle’s grandmomma. It was Luciana the Fascinante. Isabelle got nervous at once. Where was her grandmother? She was supposed to be teaching the class! Isabelle wanted to just blurt out all the questions that she had, but she knew that would get her sent back to level one. She knew that, if you didn’t obey, you would get sent back to level one.

After her first day, they did some pretty hard exercises. On one of them, she had to partner up with Angelica and they had to make themselves into a rose. But they messed up and Angelica blamed it all on Isabelle and got super mad.

The day of the test to pass to level three arrived! Isabelle was partnered with a girl named Samantha. She was normal, like her last partner, Nora. The only problem was, Samantha was Nora’s ex-friend! Will Isabelle pass to level three without hurting her friend? Or will she hurt her friend? Or will she not pass to level three all because she cared for her old friend Nora too much!  As I always say, read the book to find out!

I recommend this book to readers who love a good sequel to a story and very adventurous and magical! This was a thrilling book. There were twists and turns and I can’t wait for you to figure out whether Isabelle makes it out of them or not!

PS. This is the 2nd book in The Wish List series.

A few helpful things I like to say about the books I read:

“Run and Get Mom” (how I describe the scariness factor): There were no scary parts in the book.

“Yucky-Lovey Stuff” (how I describe the romance factor): Zero. None. Nada.

I give this book 4 ½ wands.
It was a thrilling book! The only reason I put it a little lower than 5 wands was because it was a little below my age level, but great for younger readers who like an adventure story! I would highly recommend this book!
